Local Legend Publishing is an innovative, British, consultancy-based business, founded in 2008. We have a unique and friendly approach to assisting new authors to get a foothold in the highly competitive publishing industry.
We are different to traditional publishers which are nigh on impossible to get noticed by. This often has little to do with a writer's lack of talent, and it can lead to immense frustration and disillusionment for many excellent writers. This is where LLP can help. We do not offer an advance on a traditional publishing contract but, instead, we offer an opportunity to learn about publishing from the ground up, and get your work out in the marketplace, earning you recognition and royalties, as well as building you a useful sales record of your work which can be used as a selling tool when you are ready to approach the traditional publishers at a later date. Publishers are interested in little else than the saleability of your work. You can improve your chances by testing the saleability of your writing before you approach the leading, big-names in the industry.
By definition, a publisher is the 'individual' or 'business' who takes the financial risk. We, therefore, see our role not as the traditional publisher, nor, indeed a self-publisher, but more a joint venture with our clients. We assist in getting writers started, but they receive only help from us; they are not required to surrender rights or be tied into any long-term contracts. We believe we offer writers something unique, risk-free and fair.
